Istanbul, Turkey/Washington, D.C.—February 6, 2013 — IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, and Johns Hopkins Medicine International, the global arm of Maryland, USA-based Johns Hopkins Medicine,  will host a private-sector health care conference, "Making Global Connections: Leading Change in Emerging Health Markets,"  March, 19-20, 2013, in Istanbul, Turkey.

The event will bring together health care leaders from industrialized and emerging market countries to exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices.  Invited attendees and speakers include private-sector health service providers, pharmaceutical and medical technology manufacturers, national health insurers and policy makers, financiers, supply chain management companies, and professional associations.  


A wide range of urgent international health care trends and issues will be discussed in depth, including the globalization of health services, the public purchasing of private services, trends in financial markets, access to fragmented health care markets, and innovation and technology for the future. The conference will offer attendees the opportunity to forge collaborative relationships.
